First Achievement Award

First National Bank’s FIRST Achievement Award Scholarship Program began in 1989.

The FIRST Achievement Award pays for four years based on scholastics, leadership and financial need. To date, First National Bank has awarded more than $250,000 since 1989.

In addition to our $20,000 yearly commitment to Broken Arrow Schools, First National Bank of Broken Arrow annually awards high school seniors with college scholarships.

    2024 Scholarship Recipient


    Ellie graduated from Edison High School with a 3.95 GPA. She will be attending the University of Oklahoma and plans to double major in Environmental Geology and Spanish. Throughout High School, Ellie participated in multiple organization including Student Council, National Honor Society and Girl Scouts. She earned her Gold Award by committing 80 hours to her project. Ellie’s achievements were accomplished while also working and volunteering with her Church.

    Libby graduated from Broken Arrow High School with a 4.64 weighted GPA. She will be pursuing her education at TCC and NSU to become a dental hygienist. During High School Libby was very active in multiple organizations including leadership rolls in the National Honor Society, Student Council, Unified Champions, Latin Club and AP Club. Libby also completed 30 college credit while working a part-time job. We look forward to watching Libby’s growth throughout college and beyond.

    Zahar graduated from Broken Arrow High School in the top 10% of his class with a 3.90 GPA.  He plans to attend Northeastern State University seeking a degree in economics or finance.  During High School Zahar was active in many organizations including Business Professionals of America, National Honor Society, NTHS as well as being a member of the cross country track team.

    Allison graduated from Broken Arrow High School with a weighted GPA of 4.60. She will attend Oklahoma State University to earn her undergraduate in Pre-Medical Sciences with future aspiration of becoming a pediatric physician. During Allison’s high school career, she was a member of the Pride of Broken Arrow, earning awards for her exceptional marching and musical talent. Allison was also involved in multiple organizations, such as National Honor Society, Junior/Senior Board member and BA Youth City Council member. We wish Allison success in her future endeavors and look forward to a continued business relationship.

    Ha is a 2019 honor graduate from Broken Arrow High School and plans to attend the University of Tulsa, seeking a degree in Nursing before focusing on preparing for a career as an anesthesiologist. Ha excelled in the classroom earning a 3.94 GPA despite taking a rigorous course of study and being an active part in a large number of campus and community organizations.

    Makenzie is a 2018 graduate from Broken Arrow High School and plans to attend Pittsburg State University, seeking a degree in Accounting. Makenzie was a member of multiple school organizations and currently holds the position of State Secretary of the Oklahoma Association of Student Council. While participating in numerous activities through-out High School, Makenzie continued to strive for excellence in her academic studies which earned her a 4.43 GPA.

    Reid is a 2017 graduate from Union High School and plans to attend       Oklahoma State University, seeking a dual degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Reid had a rigorous academic course of study, with excellent grades and a high level of scholarly achievement. He also participated in the Union High School Jazz Band, Senior Orchestra, Scottish Skins spirit group and numerous Mission Trips with his Church.
